A major fire broke out in the early morning of July 20th at the Suji ancient town district in Leshan, Sichuan province, destroying large amounts of replica ancient architecture.
Sichuan Province Leshan City Suji Ancient Town district experienced a major fire incident in the early morning hours of July 20th. The blaze quickly spread to multiple areas of the ancient town. Hundreds of replica ancient buildings were destroyed by the fire. These structures represented Chinese traditional architecture and art. Fire department personnel responded quickly and organized rescue forces for firefighting efforts. After several hours of intense firefighting work, the blaze was finally brought under control. Local government authorities have already initiated investigation procedures.
