- IP address — collected by Google Analytics and used to derive approximate geographic location.
2. Local Storage
汉子News stores certain preferences locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and includes:
- Your selected HSK difficulty filter
- Text-to-speech (TTS) on/off preference
- Whether you have dismissed the reading instructions
You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (Google tag ID: G-6CJQSSCQFB) to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit, which pages you view, and what site referred you to us. We use this information to improve the service.
Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. Vercel Analytics
We also use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool provided by our hosting provider. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. It collects aggregated, anonymous data about page views and performance.
5. Third-Party Services
Our service relies on the following third-party providers, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and backend infrastructure
- Vercel — hosting and deployment
- Google — analytics and fonts

Analytics data is retained according to the default policies of Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. Local storage data is retained in your browser until you clear it.

汉子News is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
