American Nathan Martin Wins Los Angeles Marathon in Closest Finish in Race History

American runner Nathan Martin won the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon by just 0.01 seconds, the closest margin in the history of the race.

On March 8, American Nathan Martin won the Los Angeles Marathon. His finishing time was 2 hours, 11 minutes and 16 seconds. He was only faster than second-place Kenya athlete Kamau by 0.01 seconds. This was the smallest margin in Los Angeles Marathon history at the finish line. Martin is currently 36 years old and is a running coach at a Michigan high school. He is the first African American male to win the Los Angeles Marathon. The women's group champion is Kenya athlete Priscah Cherono with a finishing time of 2 hours and 25 minutes. Martin said this victory made him very happy and he wants to thank his family and friends for their support.
