South Korean Police Seek Arrest Warrant for HYBE Founder Bang Si-hyuk Over IPO Fraud Allegations

South Korean police have applied to a court to arrest HYBE founder and chairman Bang Si-hyuk, alleging he misled early investors and gained improper profits through a related fund during the company IPO.

South Korean police applied to Seoul court for the arrest of HYBE entertainment company founder and chairman Bang Si-hyuk over alleged IPO fraud accusations. Police allege that Bang Si-hyuk misled early-stage investors during HYBE's initial public offering and obtained improper profits through affiliated private equity funds. HYBE is one of South Korea's largest entertainment companies, managing well-known K-pop artists including BTS. Bang Si-hyuk denied all allegations, with his attorney claiming the police investigation lacks evidence supporting the charges. The court will decide whether to approve the arrest warrant after reviewing the application.
