Scientists Find Gray Whales Entering San Francisco Bay in Growing Numbers and Facing High Mortality Risk

Scientists have found that gray whales are changing their migration routes and entering San Francisco Bay in growing numbers. Research shows that 18 percent of whales that enter the bay die there, mainly from vessel strikes and food shortages.

A major earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck a remote region on April 19, affecting multiple communities. Local authorities reported significant damage to infrastructure and buildings.
