Study Finds Cholesterol Drug Cuts Heart Attack Risk by 31 Percent in Diabetes Patients

A study published March 30, 2026 found that the cholesterol drug evolocumab can reduce the risk of a first major cardiovascular event by 31 percent in diabetes patients without known cardiovascular disease.

Amazon's cloud computing S3 storage service launched officially on March 14, 2006, and has now reached its 20th anniversary in 2026. Currently, S3 stores more than 500 trillion data objects globally, processing over 200 million requests per second.

S3 operates across 39 global regions with 123 availability zones, serving millions of customers. When the service first launched, storage costs were $0.15 per gigabyte, but have now dropped to approximately $0.02, a reduction of about 85%.

The maximum capacity of data objects grew from the original 5 gigabytes to 50 terabytes, increasing ten thousand times. Amazon stated that code written twenty years ago still runs normally today, and data stored twenty years ago can still be accessed. S3 is considered one of many websites and applications' important foundations and is regarded as a standard service for modern internet storage.
