Commonwealth Games 2026 Athletics Finals Close in Glasgow

The 2026 Commonwealth Games athletics competitions concluded on August 1st in Glasgow, Scotland, with 19 Commonwealth champions crowned on the final day of track and field events.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games opened on July 23rd in Glasgow, Scotland, bringing together athletes from 74 nations competing in 10 sports across 11 days. Athletics competitions were held at Scotstoun Stadium from July 27th to August 1st. On the final day, 19 Commonwealth champions were crowned in track and field events. British athlete Josh Kerr, who holds the world record in the mile run, competed fiercely against Australian sprinter Cameron Myers. Champions in sprinting, middle-distance, and long-distance events from various countries emerged victorious at this prestigious competition.
