China National Immigration Administration data shows visa-free entries during the five-day May Day holiday exceeded 436,000 person-trips, a 14.7 percent increase year-on-year.
On May 6th, China's National Immigration Administration released data showing that during the May Day holiday period, the number of foreign nationals entering China visa-free exceeded 436,000 person-trips, representing a growth of 14.7% compared to the same period last year.
During the five-day holiday, the total number of Chinese and foreign travelers crossing borders was 11.279 million. Foreign travelers entering the country totaled 1.255 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%.
Currently, China has implemented unilateral visa-free policies for 50 countries. Additionally, citizens of 55 other countries can enjoy 240-hour visa-free transit treatment in China.
Analysts noted that China's visa-free policy is driving rapid growth in inbound tourism.
