NASA has moved up the launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope to September 2026. The telescope will explore dark energy, exoplanets, and conduct wide-field infrared surveys of the universe.

NASA recently announced that the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launch window has been moved up to September 2026. This telescope has a field of view 100 times that of Hubble, will conduct large-scale infrared sky surveys. Its core scientific goals include studying dark energy properties, detecting exoplanets, and charting large-scale universe structures. The telescope is named after NASA's first chief astronomer Nancy Grace Roman. Previously, the telescope's launch date was originally planned for late 2026. Once in orbit, it will become one of the most important United States space observatories following the James Webb Space Telescope.
