Waymo closed a $16 billion funding round at a $126 billion valuation and plans to launch its robotaxi service in international cities including London and Tokyo.
Autonomous driving taxi company Waymo announced completion of 16 billion dollar funding round, reaching a valuation of 126 billion dollars. These funds will help Waymo launch driverless taxi services globally. London will become Waymo's first operating city outside the United States. Additionally, the company has already begun testing autonomous driving in Tokyo. Waymo currently provides driverless taxi services to the public in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The company plans to enter more than twenty new cities in 2026. However, New York state governor rejected the proposal to operate commercial driverless taxis in New York state.
