Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Visits North Korea for First Time Since 2019

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to North Korea from April 9 to 10. This is his first trip to Pyongyang since 2019.

According to official news, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi will officially visit Pyongyang from April 9-10 at the invitation of North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui. This is Wang Yi's first visit to North Korea since September 2019. KCNA reported that this visit aims to strengthen strategic communication between the two countries. Analysts point out that Wang Yi may meet with North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong Un. This visit occurs against the backdrop of tense China-US relations. Next month, China's State President Xi Jinping is expected to hold a summit meeting with U.S. President Trump.
