Volkswagen Deepens Gotion Battery Partnership

Investment in European battery production.

Volkswagen Group, PowerCo SE, and Gotion High-tech have announced a partnership establishing three joint ventures for LFP battery production in Valencia, Šurany, and Kenitra. The companies plan to invest approximately 3.22 billion euros. PowerCo will hold 51 percent stakes in Valencia, while Gotion holds majorities in Slovakia and Morocco. This partnership aims to establish Europes first large-scale LFP battery supply chain to meet demand from electric vehicle and energy storage markets. The collaboration is expected to reduce production costs and enhance competitive position.
