The ship, named Touska, measures approximately 274 meters long. It was intercepted while attempting to breach the U.S. naval blockade. After issuing warnings, the ship refused to stop. U.S. military then fired upon the engine room, causing the vessel to lose propulsion. Trump stated the U.S. Marines now have custody of the ship, describing it as a forceful response to Iran's violation of the ceasefire agreement. Iran promptly condemned the U.S. military's seizure as piracy and accused the United States of breaching the current ceasefire agreement. Currently, U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations are ongoing in Islamabad, Pakistan, with Iran stating significant distance remains before reaching a final agreement.
