China & WorldUkrainian Drones Strike Tuapse Oil Refinery for Third Time in April, Igniting New Fire
Ukrainian drones struck the Tuapse oil refinery on Russia the Black Sea coast for the third time in April on April 28, setting off a major fire. More than 160 emergency workers were deployed to battle the blaze at the facility, which had been shut down since an earlier attack.
Ukrainian drones attacked a refinery in Tuapse in southern Russia in the early morning hours of April 28, triggering a massive fire.
The attack caused storage tanks in the facility to catch fire, with over 160 firefighters rushing to the scene to help extinguish the blaze. This was the third strike against the facility in April, occurring just four days after the previous fire was completely extinguished.
According to analysis, storage tanks near the ELOU-AVT-12 unit were the target of this attack. The refinery processes approximately 12 million tons of crude oil annually and is an important petroleum product export facility for Russia.
Since the initial attack on April 16, the refinery's production operations have come to a complete halt. Ukraine has recently continued to strike Russian energy infrastructure with the aim of reducing Moscow's oil revenues.
