UK Goods Exports to US Fall 25 Percent After Trump Tariffs

UK goods exports to the US fell 25 percent following Trump tariffs, a drop of roughly £1.5 billion. With imports rising, the UK has run a trade deficit with the US for three consecutive months.

UK exports to the US have declined sharply following the implementation of Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs. Data shows that British exports of goods to the United States decreased by approximately £1.5 billion, with the decline reaching 24.7 percent. Meanwhile, British imports from the United States have increased somewhat, resulting in a trade deficit between the two countries. This is the third consecutive month the UK has seen a trade deficit with its largest trade partner. Analysts point out that tariffs have caused significant impact on the UK manufacturing industry and exporters. The UK government is currently negotiating with the United States, hoping to reach a new trade agreement.
