UAE Condemns Iranian Drone Attack on ADNOC Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Iranian Revolutionary Guard for attacking an ADNOC oil tanker with drones in the Strait of Hormuz.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday condemning Iran for launching a drone attack on an oil tanker of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The statement indicated that the tanker was crossing the Strait of Hormuz when it was attacked by two Iranian drones, fortunately resulting in no casualties. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized this attack as Iranian terrorism. Iran's Revolutionary Guard denied the allegations, stating that the relevant statements were completely baseless. This attack occurred as the United States launched a naval escort operation, further escalating the regional tensions. The Strait of Hormuz is an essential passageway through which approximately 20 percent of global oil trade flows.
