Drone Strike Near UAE Barakah Nuclear Plant Sparks Fire, Authorities Report No Radiation Impact

A drone struck an electrical generator at the perimeter of the UAE Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, causing a fire, but authorities confirmed no radiation impact and all reactors remained operational.

A drone struck the Barakah nuclear power plant located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on May 17th.

The drone hit one electrical generator outside the nuclear power plant's inner perimeter, triggering a fire.

UAE authorities stated that there were no personnel casualties and no impact on radiation levels.

The plant's four reactors are still operating normally.

This is the first time the Barakah nuclear power plant has been subjected to an attack.

After the U.S.-Iran temporary ceasefire ended this month, Iran launched attacks on Gulf countries again.

The UAE Defense Ministry stated it is investigating the source of the attack.
