This remarkable growth was driven primarily by surging global demand for artificial intelligence chips. Strong investment in data centers and cloud computing infrastructure fueled the surge in AI chip demand. To meet this demand, TSMC announced an additional $100 billion investment in its Arizona operations. This investment brings the company total commitment to US manufacturing to $265 billion. Driven by geopolitical considerations and supply chain security concerns, TSMC is accelerating its global expansion.
