Tech Industry Layoffs Wave 2023

2023 was the tech industry year experiencing most severe layoffs. Early in the year, Google for the first time announced layoffs of 12000 people, this is that company since founding most largest scale layoffs. Subsequently, Microsoft announced layoffs of 10000 people. Amazon was even worse, laid off scale reached 18000 people, setting its history record. Meta company in November 2022 announced layoffs of 11000 people, then in 2023 implemented another round layoffs. Throughout entire 2023, United States tech industry altogether had over 200000 employees faced dismissal. This wave layoffs reflects relates to COVID pandemic period tech companies excessive expansion.
