Science & TechnologySpaceX Completes First Cryogenic Fueling Test on Next-Generation Starship V3
SpaceX recently completed the first cryogenic propellant loading test on its next-generation Starship V3 rocket, a key milestone ahead of the planned late-April debut flight. The V3 Starship can carry over 100 tons to orbit, roughly three times more than its predecessor.
US private aerospace company SpaceX recently completed the first cryogenic propellant loading test of its new-generation "Starship" V3 model launch vehicle. This test marks important progress in preparation work for SpaceX's Starship project's 12th integrated flight test.
The V3 model Starship consists of the No. 19 Super Heavy booster and the No. 39 Ship, representing a comprehensive redesign of previous-generation hardware. Compared to the V2 model, the V3 model's low Earth orbit payload capacity exceeds 100 tons, approximately three times that of the previous generation.
SpaceX plans to conduct a static fire test on the No. 19 booster equipped with all 33 Raptor engines before the official flight. This 12th integrated flight test is expected to be the first time to demonstrate spacecraft rendezvous and docking operations in orbit.
SpaceX stated that the team is working at full capacity preparing for the historic maiden flight planned for late April 2026.
