SpaceX Secures 60 Billion Dollar Option to Acquire AI Coding Startup Cursor

SpaceX announced a deal with AI coding startup Cursor giving it the option to acquire the company for $60 billion. If SpaceX ultimately declines the acquisition, it will pay $10 billion as a collaboration fee.

SpaceX recently announced it has secured an option to acquire AI coding tool company Cursor for $60 billion.

According to the agreement, if SpaceX decides to abandon the acquisition, it must pay Cursor a collaboration fee of $10 billion.

Cursor focuses on AI-assisted programming, helping developers quickly write and debug code.

Before the announcement, Cursor was preparing to complete a $2 billion funding round, but accepted SpaceX's proposal.

SpaceX plans to complete its IPO in summer of this year, then formally proceed with the acquisition.

Analysts point out that this move indicates SpaceX is actively expanding its strategic positioning in the artificial intelligence field.
