SpaceX Secures Option to Acquire AI Coding Startup Cursor for 60 Billion Dollars

SpaceX has signed an agreement with AI coding startup Cursor giving it the right to acquire the company for 60 billion dollars later this year.

SpaceX announced that it has reached an agreement with AI programming startup Cursor. SpaceX will acquire Cursor at a price of $60 billion or alternatively pay $10 billion to terminate the partnership. SpaceX currently possesses approximately one million H100 GPUs' computing power, exclusively dedicated to training artificial intelligence models. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk hopes to transform the rocket company into a major player in the artificial intelligence field. In February of this year, Musk merged SpaceX with its subsidiary xAI company, further expanding its AI strategic positioning. SpaceX plans to conduct its initial public offering in the summer of this year, which could then be used to provide funds for the acquisition.
