Pope Leo XIV Condemns Trump Threats Against Iran

Pope Leo XIV sharply criticised US President Trump threats against Iranian civilians, calling them completely unacceptable.

The Vatican issued a statement Tuesday in which Pope Leo XIV publicly condemned U.S. President Trump's latest threatening remarks targeting Iran. Earlier, Trump warned on social media that if Iran does not accept the agreement, the entire civilization will perish tonight. The Pope described this remark as completely unacceptable and called upon all parties to maintain restraint. He simultaneously emphasized that any attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure will bring serious humanitarian consequences. Leo XIV is the first Pope ever from the United States, and this direct criticism is regarded as rare.
