Norway Joins US-Led Pax Silica Coalition to Secure AI Supply Chains

Norway announced it will join the US-led Pax Silica coalition, becoming its 15th member, as the alliance works to build AI supply chains independent of China.

Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry announced that Norway will formally sign the Pax Silica agreement this Wednesday.

Pax Silica was launched by the US State Department in December 2025 with the aim of establishing a trustworthy artificial intelligence supply chain. Norway possesses the world's largest sovereign wealth fund and stores abundant critical mineral resources.

These assets are strategically valuable for the coalition in reducing reliance on China's rare earth materials. Following membership, Norwegian companies will gain access to advanced technology value chain opportunities.

Currently, the coalition has fifteen member nations, serving as an important platform for the Trump administration's cooperation with its allies.
