Lebanon Excluded From US-Iran Ceasefire as Israel Continues Airstrikes

After the US and Iran reached a two-week ceasefire, Israel stated that Lebanon was not included, and then launched large-scale airstrikes on Lebanon.

On April 8, U.S. President Trump announced reaching a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran. However, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately stated that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire scope. Trump also confirmed that due to Hezbollah's involvement, Lebanon was not incorporated into the agreement. Several hours after the ceasefire announcement, Israel launched a military operation against Lebanon code-named Eternal Darkness. According to reports, the Israeli military struck over 100 targets within ten minutes, resulting in at least 254 deaths. Iran expressed strong dissatisfaction with this, warning that if Israel continues attacking Lebanon, Iran will withdraw from the ceasefire agreement. Analysts point out that the situation in Lebanon could be the key factor determining whether this ceasefire will last.
