Trump Announces Three-Week Extension of Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire

US President Trump on April 23 announced that Israeli and Lebanese delegations agreed to extend their ceasefire by three weeks following talks at the White House.

US President Trump announced on April 23 that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend the ceasefire agreement for an additional three weeks.

The previous ten-day ceasefire was set to expire this Sunday.

Senior representatives from both countries held talks at the White House with Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary of State Rubio.

However, Hezbollah rejected recognition of this ceasefire extension, calling it completely meaningless.

Following the ceasefire announcement, fighting between Israel and Hezbollah continued on Friday.

The extension provides both sides continued opportunity to pursue diplomatic negotiations and strive for additional time.
