Science & TechnologySemiconductor Industry Body Forecasts Global Chip Sales to Near $1 Trillion in 2026
The US Semiconductor Industry Association announced that global chip sales set a record of $791.7 billion in 2025 and forecast sales will near $1 trillion in 2026.
The US Semiconductor Industry Association released a report stating that 2025 global chip sales revenue reached $791.7 billion, with year-on-year growth of 25.6 percent.
This is the highest annual sales revenue in the semiconductor industry's entire history.
The association forecasts that driven by artificial intelligence demand, 2026 global chip sales revenue will approach $1 trillion.
Logic chips showed the most outstanding performance, with 2025 sales revenue growing 39.9 percent, reaching $301.9 billion.
Memory chip sales revenue also grew significantly, with 2025 total reaching $223.1 billion.
Analysts pointed out that acceleration of data center construction and widespread adoption of AI models are the main driving forces pushing chip demand.
However, Middle East region tensions and trade friction have brought uncertainty to the supply chain.
The industry association simultaneously appealed to governments of various countries to uphold the World Trade Organization's tariff moratorium on electronic transmissions.
