EU Enforces Digital Markets Act Against Apple

The EU Digital Markets Act came into force in March 2024. This law aims to regulate technology giants monopolistic behavior. Apple as designated gatekeeper enterprise was forced make series concessions. Apple was required in EU markets allow users sideload apps, introduce alternative payment methods in App Store. This action aims break Apples iOS ecosystem control, increase market competition. Simultaneously, the EU imposed 1.8 billion euros fine against Apple for anti-competitive conduct in App Store.
