On March 26, Ethiopia hosted a large-scale international investment forum in the capital Addis Ababa. Over 800 international investors from more than 50 countries attended this forum. During the forum, Ethiopia signed investment agreements totaling over $13.1 billion. This figure not only far exceeded the initial target but was nearly eight times the results of the previous forum. China's Ming Yang Smart Energy Group was the largest committed investor, planning to invest over $10 billion in renewable energy and green hydrogen energy projects. This forum covered multiple sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, energy, and construction. The Ethiopian government has recently implemented multiple economic reforms, including opening up financial services and telecommunications sectors. Officials stated that these investments will help create employment opportunities and accelerate technology transfer.
