Chinese Scientists Achieve New Progress on Space Solar Power Project

Researchers at Xidian University in China have made new progress on a space solar power project, achieving power transmission over a distance of 100 meters.

China has an ambitious plan to build a solar power station in space.

The research team at Xidian University is responsible for this project.

They conducted a ground-based testing system that can simultaneously charge multiple targets.

During testing, they transmitted 1,180 watts of electricity over a distance of 100 meters.

They also charged a drone at 30 meters away, which received 143 watts of power.

The next step is for the team to conduct in-orbit tests in space.
