Anthropic reached a $30 billion annualized revenue run rate in April, surpassing OpenAI for the first time. The milestone reflects Anthropic strong growth in enterprise customers and API usage.

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic announced that its annualized revenue reached $30 billion in April, surpassing OpenAI's $25 billion and making Anthropic the highest-revenue AI company globally.

Anthropic's growth speed has been extremely rapid: within approximately four months, its annualized revenue grew from $9 billion to $30 billion.

Analysts believe that Anthropic's focus on enterprise customers and API services is the key to its success. Currently, over one thousand enterprises annually spend more than $1 million on Claude.

By comparison, OpenAI's growth primarily relies on ChatGPT, a consumer-facing product. However, OpenAI disputed these figures, claiming that actual revenue was overestimated by approximately $8 billion.
