Anthropic announced it will lease all computing capacity at SpaceX Colossus 1 data center in Memphis to meet rapidly growing user demand.
Anthropic and SpaceX have signed a computing power cooperation agreement.
According to the agreement, Anthropic will lease all the computing power from SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center located in Memphis. The data center possesses over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs with a total installed capacity exceeding 300 megawatts.
Anthropic stated that this cooperation will directly improve the experience of Claude paid users.
In the first quarter of this year, Anthropic's user demand grew 80 times, leading to severely insufficient server resources.
SpaceX's parent company is xAI under Elon Musk, which is an entity formed after merging with SpaceX. Both parties also expressed their intention to cooperate in developing space computing power facilities, with capacity reaching several gigawatts.
