Amazon is reportedly in talks to acquire satellite operator Globalstar in a deal valued at up to $9 billion, sending Globalstar shares surging over 24 percent in a single day to an 18-year high.

OpenAI announced on April 2 that it has acquired TBPN, a popular technology business talk show, marking the company's first-ever acquisition of a media enterprise.

TBPN is co-hosted by former entrepreneurs John Coogan and Jordi Hays, broadcasting three-hour livestreams daily on YouTube and X platforms. The show focuses on technology, business, and artificial intelligence topics and has garnered widespread attention from tech industry entrepreneurs and investors.

According to reports, the acquisition value reaches hundreds of millions of dollars, but OpenAI has not publicly disclosed specific figures.

In 2025, TBPN generated approximately $5 million in advertising revenue, with 2026 projections suggesting advertising revenue could surpass $30 million.

Under the agreement, TBPN will fall under OpenAI's strategy team, overseen by Chief Political Officer Chris Lehane.

OpenAI explicitly committed to preserving TBPN's editorial independence, with the show team independently deciding content direction and guest invitations.

Analysts point out that this acquisition indicates OpenAI is seeking to expand from a single-technology company toward a broader media and communications ecosystem.
