AI Deepfake Regulation Global Push

With rapid development of generative AI technology, deepfake videos and audio social harms increasingly prominent. Given this, multiple global governments, international organizations and industry bodies began advancing deepfake content regulation work. The EU AI Act came into force in August 2024, requiring AI generated or manipulated content be clearly labeled. The US Congress also introduced multiple bills aimed at regulating deepfakes. Furthermore, multiple countries made non-consensual intimate relation deepfakes defined as crime.
